Public preview of the public housing for the disaster victims is held from 10:00 to 15:00 today and tomorrow in Ogakuchi, Otsuchi town, Iwate prefecture. Lots of the people came and watched the new wooden housing, which will get the new residences soon on August 30.
They are ordered by UR and constructed by the private constructor in the local area, such as Iwate prefecture. They are used lots of wood from the forest in Otsuchi town hewed out by the Kamaishi forestry cooperative.
It is the UR's first trial and result that it designed and ordered the wooden public housing using the local materials. UR supplies the only RC rental housing in the metropolitan area over the last three decade, I think.
The wooden public housings in Ogakuchi looks very well in the landscape there. I hope more people see the new housing, find out their hope for the future. If the people will reconstruct their own housing, we hope they find the well designed wooden public housing informative.
